Spanish Wine Festival 2007
I had the opportunity to assist last June 20 to the Spanish Wine Festival 2007. Tasting took place at the “Landmark on the Park,” a Universalist Church built in 1897, located at 160 Central Park West across from Central Park at West 76th Street.
Tasting highlights included Wine Advocate 100 point sensations 2004 Numanthia-Termes “Termanthia” and 2004 Benjamín Romeo Rioja “Contador;” top Ribera del Dueros Vega Sicilia “Unico” and Pesquera “Janus;” Priorat greats Mas Martinet “Clos Martinet,” Mas Doix “Doix” and upstart Mas Romani “La Creu Alta;” Jumilla stunners from El Nido, “Clio” and “El Nido;” and Rioja R. López de Heredia Viña Tondonia Gran Reserva, 1964 Riojanas Gran Reserva “Monte Real” and Artadi “Pagos Viejos”.
It was a lot of fun, a lot of wine and a unique opportunity to taste the greatest spanish wine in the same event.
It is a must go for the wine lovers. For sure I ‘ll be there next year.
